The Intelligent Investor
As an investor, your primary relationship with the stock market should be one of informed observation, not emotional reaction. I've often described the market as 'Mr. Market,' a manic-depressive partner who offers you prices daily. Some days he's euphoric and willing to buy your shares at ridiculously high prices; other days, he's despondent and will sell you his holdings for pennies. Your wisdom lies in recognizing his moods but not being swayed by them. You should only transact when his offers are genuinely advantageous to you, based on your own assessment of value. Never let Mr. Market dictate your investment decisions; let your own analysis be your guide. This requires patience and a willingness to wait for the right opportunities, rather than chasing every fleeting trend.
